@greymatter I guess I can see both sides of the story, but I do strongly believe Open Source should be open. Sure the GPL allows RH to do what they are doing, but it doesn't feel right to me.

From my perspective the commitment to Oracle Linux is more important that binary compatibility "for me", as I run Oracle software on Oracle Linux, and if that is supported, I'm happy.

Of course, binary compatibility is good for non-Oracle stuff, so I hope it remains, but my initial concern is what do I put on new servers provisioned today? 😁
