They're not even that sneaky, it's easy to slap them. So easy, I was often getting two in one go! 😬 And then wait a moment and two more would take their place. 😫 Just hordes, and hordes, and hordes.
At least the bites don't seem to be as itchy as the spring mosquitoes (at least for me, your reaction may vary).

I managed to go berry-picking without bites and was fine at the pow wow last night until 9. Then, they all starting honing in on me and I came home!

I did well on the insect front when I picked #Haskaps on Friday evening. I was too busy and it was too hot so I just threw the bagful into the freezer to deal with later. Like raspberries, they're very delicate.

The haskaps are like a tart blueberry. They made good jam last year. But our weather has been too hot to do any canning. Later.
