You’ve heard, of course, that the global average temperature has set a new record high numerous times during the past week. But we’re not breaking those old records by just a little bit. The Earth has a very bad fever and the temperature is soaring.

@breadandcircuses where is 2020-2022 in the map? As this is an average of the world temperature where can I find the raw data for the different regions? Is unusual hot Summers or hot winters contribiting the most to this effect? Both? And also how much different are the changes in the poles?

There's no curse, and there's no such thing as "human nature". Blaming Humanity as a whole leads directly to justify a massive population reduction aka a genocide.

@breadandcircuses has anyone had any luck yet spotting which major feedback loop or system has seen the big shift that's causing the sudden deviation? I've seen plenty of (fully justifiable) panic posts, but somewhere out there is a proximal cause for a shift this sudden. I know there are a ton of brilliant people looking for it.

I have no idea, but here in Southern Ontario the trend has been cooler summers and warmer winters for the past 10 years. It was down to 9C. two nights ago and that simply is not normal for July. I can't remember another time in my 50+ years on this planet that I had to put the furnace on in the summer.

@breadandcircuses I really wish they did these graphs in Fahrenheit, because America. Celsius fails to be persuasive on a gut level because 1 degree is substantial in one but less so the other.
