"Why We Don’t Recommend Ring Cameras"

"...products that can be dangerous to you, or to society in general, which we believe to be the case with Amazon-owned Ring and its relationship with law enforcement."

When I was a delivery guy, I was amazed/appalled at all the Ring cameras I saw on my route. :(

I don't know if RIng has the same relationship with law enforcement here in Canada but its ties to them in the USA frightens me.

Why We Don’t Recommend Ring Cameras

They’re affordable and ubiquitous, but homeowners shouldn’t be able to act as vigilantes.

WIRED
@KingShawn I personally don’t have a doorbell camera, and I don’t want one. For me, It’s like neighborhood watch on steroids. Instead, I have a German shepherd, and I feel perfectly protected.

@BethF Haven’t needed/wanted one but now I have a car sitting outside (no garage), I might like something “looking in on it” at night. Not a huge priority though.

I don’t have worries about porch pirates either. Because I live in a very small town, most of my packages get delivered by postal carriers and get put in community mailboxes or left at the post office for pickup.

And I’m sorry but you can’t say, “I have a German shepherd…” and not post a picture of said shepherd! :)

@KingShawn Oops, my bad. Here she is!
@BethF AW! What a pretty floofy girl! ❤️
