Looking for feedback from pdx.social users about allowing federation with Meta's new threads platform. My main concern is that data from our server that makes it's way into threads will then become part of Meta's data collection.
The fact that they can't launch in the EU because it would prevent them from mixing their data sources for advertising is telling.

I vote against federating with Threads.
🔸Privacy concerns.
🔸Threads is already being real welcoming to hateful people. There are at least a handful of trans people among those who I've been talking to, and I would really prefer not to inadvertantly lead hate to them.
🔸I already don't have an Instagram account, and deleted my Facebook account a while back. I don't need them keeping tabs on me again.
