Thought for sure McLaren made the wrong call there and Hamilton would fly by. But very impressed by Lando there. He earned that 2nd place. Hopefully they can keep this up.
I still maintain it was the wrong call. It only worked because Lando drove perfectly. If Lando made even the slightest mistake, he would have lost that position.
Expecting your driver to be prefect is not the right call.
I agree, he was lights out after the safety car. The McLaren looked quick though.
blackn1ghtStella said on C4 that they intended to go for the hards because of the vsc, but the full safety changed things, however they didn’t have time to then get the soft tyres ready in the pits. Basically there was a higher chance of losing positions by the time lost switching to softs in the pit lane.

I thought it was fairly obvious that the vsc would turn full based on where the car stopped so that was still a small error on their part, but yeah, there’s always lots of things to take into account and it’s not always a simple x or y decision.
