DevReminder after the kolektiva incident: DMs on mastodon are not encrypted, and can be read from backups. Never DM any sensitive information, I recommend using DMs to set up communication on a safer platform

I've been on a search for a good xmpp e2ee messaging app. Been using Signal, but prefer to be out of "walled gardens," if it's not overly-complicated to implement.
