I forgot #howIfeelfriday!! SO here it goes today..

I don't know who needs to hear this but.. #devops ( parts) sort of bullshit, especially stand up's! I fucking hate those! #backlogs.. the fuck, no one looks at those! #burnup charts.. Are you sucks just making up work. T-shirt sizes/Points.. Everything is a fucking Double-XL.. Sprints!!! Two week waterfalls my boy!!! Everything seems to take 6 sprints! #retros.. those can be coo!

Scrum masters.. 😂 Hi.. project manager!

#fightme

@train I do get where you're coming from, but I don't think any of these nuisances are caused by those concepts rather than the (often) incorrect application of them.

Also, too many orgs copycat scrum because it's hot.

But yeah, been there.

@jpostma Yea man it seems like the idea or concopet of devops has a lot of benefits, then everyone just goes off and makes shit up!!! Or just add a title to something and call it moving fast.

@train It certainly beats throwing work over the fence and waiting for the change request to be denied due to some minor detail after a few weeks.

It takes more than copying a popular methodology to succeed however, and it doesn't help when concepts are misunderstood and expected to instantly pay off.

Lots of these novel paradigms are actually useful in a certain context when applied carefully. It's a shame they get such a bad rep because of hype and misapplication.

@train With you for the most part - safe for backlogs. I love those. As long as they're well organized, they're a great tool. I will be having a student at work for the next six months doing their practical semester. And I just had to lazily scroll through the backlog a bit to find some interesting things for them to do.

I will steal the "Sprints = 2 week waterfall". 😂
