His straw-man argument hinges on the assumption that commoners are not able to retaliate or expel selfish actors — which is exactly what Scottsdale did in this instance.

I'm guessing that you know the Tragedy of the Commons was based on a false history, and that, in reality, the commons were used communally and socially regulated.
