katwhen@unamccormack We had bats flitting round our hobbit hole holiday home at dusk most evenings. I was hoping the bats were gorging themselves on midges, bastard little bitey things.

In April I made the mistake of not putting midge repellent on my legs and not tucking my trousers into my socks while out walking up north. Still, not getting bitten on face and arms proved the midge repellent worked. This holiday I was bathing in midge repellent and the trousers were tucked.
@katwhen @unamccormack my daughter and even gad bites on our scalp - we must be tasty as my husband got none!
