Lemmy.ml has now blocked threads.net / Meta
It should come as no surprise that the lemmy.ml [http://lemmy.ml] admin team took about 2 minutes to decide to pre-emptively block threats / Meta. Their transparent and opportunistic scheme to commodify the fediverse and it’s users will not be allowed to proceed. We strongly encourage other instance administrators to do the same, given the grave threat they pose to the fediverse.
the lemmy.world admins are being irresponsible by purpoualy not announcing their intentions despite many of their users asking for this. There are half a dozen threads asking about it.
I am beginning to think the lemmy.world admins may not have their users best interests in mind.
I’m thinking the same thing…they’re trying to avoid blowback by breaking the fedipact by just….saying nothing.
I swear I’ll fucking leave if they don’t.
I really REALLY hate to bring up Reddit since I know everyone is sick of hearing about it, but this is just like when Subreddits were determining whether or not to go dark and some of the more popular ones opted to just say or do nothing because they didn’t want to go against the grain.
FFS I wish people would grow a pair and fight back.
