Lemmy.ml has now blocked threads.net / Meta - Lemmy

It should come as no surprise that the lemmy.ml [http://lemmy.ml] admin team took about 2 minutes to decide to pre-emptively block threats / Meta. Their transparent and opportunistic scheme to commodify the fediverse and it’s users will not be allowed to proceed. We strongly encourage other instance administrators to do the same, given the grave threat they pose to the fediverse.

the lemmy.world admins are being irresponsible by purpoualy not announcing their intentions despite many of their users asking for this. There are half a dozen threads asking about it.

I am beginning to think the lemmy.world admins may not have their users best interests in mind.

I am on lemmy.world, but the inaction of the admins there made me create an account here on .ml as soon as I saw one of the admins being basically as “naive” as Mastodon’s Rochko.

How did you get an account on. ml? I thought they closed new account registration ?

They’re open as it seems (since I got to register today), but the sign-up process requires you to answer a few basic questions to verify you’re not a bot or spam account.
