Too bad I think the author turned out to have some issues IIRC. I don't remember details though. His writing was great!

@dalfen @aredridel @dannotdaniel I know that not all authors are, but I will say that it seems like the Venn diagram of “douchcanoist” has a considerable larger overlap with “author of sci-fi novel” than the general population. I suspect this is a corollary of the saying “never meet your heros”
