#BobDylan #ShadowKingdom #Music
I'm currently enjoying Bob Dylan's recent album "Shadow Kingdom." At age 82, Dylan's voice is weathered and a little ragged, but still nuanced. And instead of penning a batch of new songs, here he re-imagines some of his classic songs from the 60's and 70s. Some may wish he had left them alone, but for me the songs, like all great songs, have been and will be reinterpreted many times. Dylan is a worthwhile interpreter of his own music. Speaking as a decades long fan, It's great to hear these songs again in their new incarnations.

He's made a decades-long career out of reinterpreting his own and others' songs, while never letting that get in the way of creating new wonders. We're lucky to share a timeline with him.

@mydogwrotethis Over the years, some of his rearrangements have been mystifying. I get the trying to mix it up; what I didn’t get was after playing them back, someone decided to memorialize them on a live recording.

But to my ears Shadow Kingdom is a complete delight. The arrangements suit the band and Dylan is singing well.
