Ok, so I think it would be funny if the role reversal for my game was that you are Mark Brown and you have to make a video about a game. Now, how do I turn a video editing interface into a puzzle? 🤔 #gmtk#gamedev#gmtkjam#gamejam
@Domin0e I'm saying that I'm not sure what skill this game would test. "Good editing" is not something I can verify through code. Maybe I'll do like a Jackbox thing? Just ask the players to combine words into hopefully some funny nonsense
Maybe it's a matching puzzle where you have to match video clips with a script and keep it relevant, and then the video is uploaded and scored by different algorithms that prefer different things?
@brazmogu Oooh, thanks for the suggestion! I like the idea of the video being scored by an algorithm once it's finished. Reminds me of the scoring system from GameDevTycoon. I'm gonna use that if you don't mind
@ParticularlySadRock this is a fun idea! Gave it some thought. You could do "Mark Brown writes a script": take transcripts from actual GMTK vids, chop them up and jumble. It's up to the player to rearrange the script back into what they think is the correct order. Player is scored on accuracy.
