Today a friend asked me what was up with #COVID vaccines. Why haven't we been encouraged to get further boosters?

The short answer is that there's a new version coming this fall that targets the now-prevalent XBB.1.5 strain that was not included in previous formulations.

My guess is that this will be made available, but not necessarily recommended, to all US adults. I will be getting it if it is available to me.

@ct_bergstrom In the Netherlands people over 60, the vulnerable and healthcare workers will be offered the new vaccin.
I’m in healthcare and surely will take the booster.

@tobi82 @ct_bergstrom Strange times indeed, a few years ago everybody went mad because the advice was to take the vaccin (good times for our #conspiracynuts ) and now they get mad because the gouvernement only wants to vaccinate the risk groups !!!!
Very strange indeed !!! 🤭
Knowing the Netherlands, if you don’t fit in the risk groups but you want to get vaccinated I guess you can get it. So no problem.
