"We crossed the great and little Muddy Lakes & again re-entered the #Saskatchewan, which we ascended for 2 Leagues, which brought us to the Pine Encampment where we put up for the night, having come during the day an estimated distance of 59 Miles. Altho' but an indifferent Encampment, it is the only one that the face of the Country affords for a great distance, it being continued Swamps.
