@ShortyMcStompy @Scornflakegrrrl I'm not convinced that a monolithic microblogging platform ran by Jack Dorsey is significantly preferable to a monolithic microblogging platform ran by Elon Musk, especially when it's already clear it's scraping content for AI training.
@basil @ShortyMcStompy i quite enjoy it over there as currently there aren’t any ads, it’s not yet overwhelmed by arseholes and is kind of quiet and mainly conversations with my twitter mutuals. And the block function blocks properly and doesn’t allow having a peek anyway which is good for me
@Scornflakegrrrl @basil It’s clearly an issue with my follow list but so far I’m finding that “good at Instagram” is not translating to “good at threads”. My feed is full of a lot of people saying weird and awkward things. It’s jarringly different to here or my old old Twitter world.
