The wildest thing in political theory is:

"Yeah governments need violence to enforce their rules on population"

And they still think it's good

@trans_caracal It's not good, but any form of #Governance will need #enforcement of it's rules, otherwise it'll inevitably be toppled by #Warlordism aka. #Anarchism in the sense of "Tyranny by the Strongest"!

Because #violence is part of the human evolution and at some point, people need to be stopped non-consensually in some form.

However, that doesn't necessitate excessive #PoliceViolence or #Incarceration-for-profit...

@trans_caracal I wished for a world where we'd neither need weapons nor we'd see violence.

But sadly it's far from reality and relying solely on the gracefulness and mercy of the opressors is very naive.

IOW: One needs to be privilegued enough to afford #pacifism...
Kinda like #Apoliticalness outside of tyrannical regimes...

@kkarhan what are you cooking? Anarchists want to topple all governments and base governance on free association, consent and direct democracy. States are not part of "human nature" states are social hierarchy that was invented only when higher classes needed to enforce class system. States necessitates violence done by police and military.

@trans_caracal That is a fine idea but inherently falls flat when a violent minority exists.

It is extremely optimistic re: human nature and believes that all people will only have good intentions and be peaceful.

Furthermore whilst a Communé may be able to self-organize in that fashion, it already falls flat once it hits like a 100k city where people taking responsibility and spechalization is needed just to not have people die from Cholera and shit...

@kkarhan Humans are influenced by society they live in. People's assemblies in neighborhoods can send their representatives to "city council" they actually have no power and only communicate the will of assembly. The option with majority of votes wins. People can protest, debate or leave but majority cannot enforce their will on minority.

@trans_caracal so what if the majority decides to abolish certain human rights and/or debate if someone's allowed to even exist?

See, this still requres people to be good, which AFAICT falls flat very fast...

It's a good idea, but at some point any society will require rules or laws and enforcement of them.

The "How" and "What" is clearly up for debate...

But relying solely on people being of good will and intentions, is quite naive...

@kkarhan nobody gonna propose abolishment of human rights bruh This society will be founded on liberation. This society will have different values.

@trans_caracal so how will it defend itself against tyrants that want to abolish that?

Or do you completely ignore the existance of #Tankies and #Facists?

And no, "flatlining them all" is not a valid solution to the problem, because you then just make up the premise that the problem doesn't exist...
