Look, there's a lot of anger and dissent in the Fediverse about the launch of Threads, but can we all at least agree that it is going to be utterly hilarious to watch Musk pretending he's not not crying as the last shreds of the platform he paid billions of dollars for go swirling down the toilet?

Let's not do the whole galaxy brain "Musk is cleverly making himself look like an utter idiot to destroy Free Speech" argument about this either, folks. His funders no doubt have that in mind but he backed himself into a corner, got a toy he thought would make him look cool, & has done nothing but destroy the (unearned & unwarranted) reputation & credibility it took him years to build. I do not buy that he keeps stepping on rakes on purpose. He's a fool and it wounds his pride that people see it

@AbandonedAmerica ha that's one way of looking at it if you can't see the end game. There's a clear through-line:
1. Buy twitter
2. Challenge zuck to a cage fight
3. Clone zuck with dna you grabbed while he's choking you
4. Log in with biometrics with your clone and ban all betas from fb and Instagram
5. Profit

It's all so clear when you hear it spelled out I know
