Oblomov@tommertron @takeda counterpoint: why would you give them the benefit of the doubt given their history of catastrophic and deadly privacy and moderation issues, repeated attempts at replacing the whole Internet, and abuses of power to obstruct competition, even outside of their own sphere of influence?
takeda@oblomov @tommertron exactly, we gave benefit of the doubt to Google two decades ago when they looked like a different, user friendly company. It didn't turn out well. Facebook pretty much was always predatory, and they deserve benefit of the doubt?
