#Tips for the best ways to access #Mastodon:

Using Mastodon on mobile? I highly recommend using an app, and not the official one. My personal favourite is Woolly for iOS @woollyapp, many other great ones exist like Ivory or Ice Cubes.

Using Mastodon in your web browser? The native interface isn’t great, try elk.zone or phanpy.social on both mobile and desktop.

Using a computer and want an app? Woolly, Mona and Ivory are great options.

I’m afraid I’m not on Windows or Android so I don’t know names, but they both have great apps for them as well of course.

@TheExecEditor @woollyapp fair enough, to each their own! The multi-hashtag columns sure are handy, but besides that I find it busy, and has some unintuitive behaviour.

@Brendanjones @woollyapp Yep I am personally using Mona ….Though if some wants a similar experience but for free , I would recommend Ice Cubes App . It is equally complete, polished and feature rich as Mona with a few features here and there. It has an option to tip the dev too if you like the app and want to support them.Also to add in their present state i wouldn’t recommend woolly or ivory. It’s because currently their pricing is a bit too much for what it offers. (1)

@Brendanjones @woollyapp Not to say that woolly and ivory aren’t good. It’s just in their present state it feels a bit overpriced. I would suggest you try all four and see what works best for you. But my personal recommendations are Mona and Ice Cube App. Mona is a one time pay to unlock unlike woolly or ivory which are both subscription model based. (2)

I think with woolly, you need a silicon Mac which I don’t have….yet 😉
