Another thing I'll be able to do with interactive widgets is a liner notes and credits widget for MusicSmart. Widgets are not running, so they can't detect when the playing song changes. But now I can add a button to update it manually.

@mactanaka Maybe an odd question, do interactive widgets allow for text input by the user? Be cool to add a reminder or a note from the widget rather than opening the app

Super happy about how these turned out. The widget now shows the album artwork and applies a subtle background tint to match.

@neuromante It uses the new interactive widgets API, so I’m releasing it alongside iOS 17.
Manuel Kehl@mactanaka Oh that looks really cool! Configurations like this could previously only be achieved by stacking differently configured widgets of the same app and then swiping through the stack (while having to remember the order in which they are arranged).
Being able to just click one of these “bottom tabs” to show different lists would be super handy!
@manuel Absolutely! I had one of these setups myself, but having them easily available on bottom tabs is so much better.
