And before anyone asks about Australia and New Zealand, I figured y’all could be part of Oceania for this. I only get four poll options for the whole world. 😀
@MattTheQuick I don't dispute that Australia and New Zealand are in Oceania, but that they are grouped together is sort of weird. It is over 8000km from Africa to the west coast of Australia.
@accessrel no argument here. It was either that or group Africa/Europe together, but given that Africa and Europe are number 2 and 3 on the list of most populous continents (behind Asia) I figured it wouldn’t be fair to make them the same category. I just need @Gargron to add more poll slots 😀
@MattTheQuick #Oceania naturally groups with Asia @accessrel @Gargron
@Heliograph @MattTheQuick @accessrel @Gargron Yep, Asia-Pacific (APAC), Europe-Middle-East-Africa (AMEA) and Americas, that's 3 options. You can even add a “Somewhere else/show results” option.
@MattTheQuick @accessrel @Gargron Oceania is usually considered to include a lot of island nations in the pacific, but definitely not Africa — and it's really going to skew the hell out of any survey not using some fundamental conventions...
@MattTheQuick It would have made more sense to include us with Asia then as they are our immediate neighbours.
@MattTheQuick I came here to ask that. Africa/Oceania is not a grouping I’ve seen before.
Aus/NZ often get grouped into “Asia Pacific”.
@MattTheQuick you had me second guessing myself as to whether Australia is indeed a giant Westworld and doesn’t really exist at all
@MattTheQuick Many international businesses will divide their global regions as North America, LATAM (Latin America), EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and APAC (Asia Pacific).
