So my new headcanon is that Rose from the Golden Girls is (undiagnosed) autistic, and St Olaf was a magical place where everyone was neurodivergent, so everything they did there made sense to each other.

The problem with that headcanon is that when you start looking at it that was, Dorothy and Blanche are pretty abusive toward her because her brain works differently…

@wickedgood They 100% were abusive toward her! I rewatched last fall and had a really hard time with it, tbh.

@aleen I guess the way I see it is that they all get their shots in against the others (and Rose's tend to hit like a suckerpunch when they do), and they all clearly do care about each other, but they also step over the line more often than I noticed before.

@aleen I had a really hard time with it too. All the -isms and so mean to Rose. But yes, when Rose got hers, she got it good, and that was great.
