DebbieI procrastinated having the water shut off valve in my garage replaced so of course a pipe sprung a bad leak under my bathroom sink requiring an emergency plumber. So I had him fix the leak and replace the shut off valve. He also taught me how to shut water off at the street. $1500 I did not need to spend and the same week my cat dies. I'm over this week now, it can fuck right off.

@trainingmontage Thank you. It really has been. These things usually happen in 3s, so I'm preparing for some other disaster....
@CatLady324 We had a similar trio of bad events happen last August. Not nearly as bad as a pet dying, but it was disruptive for months.
1. The air conditioner quit working.
2. The gas company removed our gas meter because there was a leak under the house (it took months to fix because foundation issues kept plumbers from putting their lives at risk under the house)
3. We had a flea infestation that lasted about three weeks. We have no pets.
Not as hard as losing a pet, but it really sucked.
@trainingmontage holy yikes! I had the AC die last year in May so that had better not happen. But that gas thing sounds terrifying. In FL we pretty much have electric everything. Fleas are the absolute worst bug in existence and I am allergic to their bites so that had better not happen either.
@CatLady324 It was definitely a marathon. The AC got fixed pretty quickly, but we didn't get to take hot showers until November.
@trainingmontage omg, I'm sorry that happened. I have a 17 year old water heater, that had better not be the next to go.
There are times I wish I was renting, but a whole host of othe BS comes with that.
