One of the things we like best about Mastodon (especially in light of recent events) is the sheer volume of people and posts that say, "Hi, and welcome to the neighbourhood!! Make yourself at home, get settled in, and since things are a little different here, if you have any questions just ask."

That's the basic definition of community. 🙂
