Looks like I've finally been banned from Twitter. All of a sudden I can't tweet, reply, like, or use the DM function. It tells me I'm automated and spam. Leave it to Elmo to not even have the balls to properly ban someone.

@RSThomas Same. I don't know if I'm being punished for tweeting disparaging (i.e., TRUE) things about the platform's lack of functionality, but I can't do anything.
@JaggedAuthor As far as I can tell, my account has been marked as spam. In fact I'm SO spam I can't even contact Twitter support, not that it would do any good. A new method of banning people who haven't broken any rules?

@RSThomas I'm unclear on whether it's that or just a glitch. It's something that a fair amount of people have been experiencing over the past few days.

In either case, it's extremely disappointing, since I do the vast majority of my socializing via the bird app, and it's the one platform on which I have an audience.

@JaggedAuthor I feel you. I'm a hermit and Twitter is where all my friends are.
@RSThomas I guess I'll create an alt account for the time being...? I can't imagine I'll manage to get even half of my followers back, though.
@JaggedAuthor I was thinking about doing that, if only to tell certain people where I've gone. I had so carefully cultivated my TL though that I don't know that I've got the energy to start over.
@RSThomas Fuck that worthless piece of shit for what he did to that site - and fuck his mindless cheerleaders.
@JaggedAuthor Just one. We eat just one billionaire and the rest will fall right into line.
@RSThomas In the past five minutes, I've seen two people on another platform complain about this same issue.
@JaggedAuthor Okay, so it's not just us then. Fucking Elmo being a genius again, probably.
@RSThomas I'm able to access my account again, but I don't know for how long. I did a Twitter search, and tons of other people are experiencing this issue.
@JaggedAuthor I just checked and it looks like I'm back to normal too. I think I'm just going to keep Post, Mastodon, and Spoutible open anyway.
