Just so we are clear…

Selling a cake to a gay person is participating in the marriage, but selling a gun to a shooter isn’t participating in a murder.

What a country!

@duanegran To the GOP/Nazi party it all makes sense. Anything your fearless leader says is the truth without question.
@duanegran Or just maybe, both are not complicity?
@duanegran Anyone who knows some history can see where this is headed. Some people want to have the right to refuse to engage in acts of commerce with other people simply because they don't like the person. And they want that right to be protected by law. So far the Supremes are playing along. Will be interesting to see where the line is drawn, like what is too much. I'm thinking it will happen when some angry evangelical is refused service by a practicing Satanist
@Wolleysegap @duanegran
(Person with MAGA hat walks into store)
«We don’t serve your kind here!» the proprietor yells.
«You can’t…»
«The SCOTUS says I can!»
@duanegran come now, god made cakes and guns separately. dont be blurring the sacred cake-gun distinction. last time that ended in tragedy.

@duanegran Same country, same logic:

Selling a cake to a gay person is participating in the marriage, but obstructing the certification of Biden's Electoral College votes in Congress, while a violent Trump-mob is storming the Capitol isn't participation in insurrection against the authority of the United States.

The Mysterious Case of the Fake Gay Marriage Website, the Real Straight Man, and the Supreme Court

In filings in the 303 Creative v. Elenis case is a supposed request for a gay wedding website—but the man named in the request says he never filed it.

The New Republic

This was a made up case about a fake wedding designer

The cake was a while ago

At least the damn cake case was actually something that HAPPENED ffs!

@CatHat So, are you saying, the cake was a lie?
@JohannasGarden no.
The cake was NOT a lie!
The web designer wedding story was the lie
@CatHat True, true {hugs companion cube tightly}.
@duanegran plus some of those people are desperately ugly, so ugly only a magical, non-existent jeeesaassss could love. Why would my actions creating a cake or work of art involve me in their hideous lives?
@duanegran these courts are beyond saving
@duanegran the truth is they didn’t refuse to SELL a cake. They did offer an undecorated cake. But what they did refused to do was customizing it in a way that was against their beliefs. Imagine forcing a muslim baker making a cake with a writing insulting Allah. No?
so everyone on the twitter/fediverse has come up with this observation "instantaneously", thanks for regurgitating
@duanegran
You're only "participating" if you don't like what the product is used for in the end?
