What are the most funny and positive movies or series? - tchncs

In the past, I have been watching many mysterious movies because they are exciting. But life sometimes is hard enough, why should I then at home watch movies or series which are realy brutal. I feel like movies/series always need more crazy shit to be still popular. I am looking for good funny movies/series which entertain and give you a positive feeling. I think the world needs more positivity

Home Movies (TV series) - Wikipedia

The Good Place is overall pretty positive. Same with Parks and Recreation as well as Abbot Elementary.
The ending of the Good Place is one of those shows that ended perfectly. I can’t think of a better way they could have finished the show.
Chidi’s imagine a wave monologue made me cry in a way I’ve never done before
  • Paddington / Paddington 2
  • Kiki’s Delivery Service

Here’s something nobody has seen, but is sweet despite the premise: Brigsby Bear letterboxd.com/film/brigsby-bear/

I think this fits, too: Moonrise Kingdom letterboxd.com/film/moonrise-kingdom/ If you have my sense of humor, you’ll also find this one rather funny.

Brigsby Bear (2017)

Brigsby Bear Adventures is a children's TV show produced for an audience of one: James. When the show abruptly ends, James's life changes forever, and he sets out to finish the story himself.

Look into these and see if they might interest you:

  • Schitt’s Creek
  • Ted Lasso
  • Bob’s Burgers
  • Community
  • Comedians in the car getting coffee
Ted Lasso:( I hope we can see more of it one day

PLEASE watch Joe Pera Talks With You, everyone. It's such a rare, underappreciated gem.
  • Pushing Daisies,
  • Gravity Falls,
  • Amphibia,
  • The Good Place,
  • Strange World (2022),
  • The Lost City (2022),
  • "Confess, Fletch",
  • The unbearable weight of massive talent,
  • Everything everywhere all at once,
  • Lightyear,
  • Warm Bodies,
  • Ghostbusters: Afterlife,
  • The secret life of Walter Mitty,
  • Don Jon,
  • Oscar (1991, I love this one),
  • What we do in the shadows,
  • Paul (2011),
  • Hitchcock (2012),
  • Logan Lucky,
  • Good Omens,
  • Bird on a wire,
  • Miracle Workers,
  • Stranger than fiction (2006),
  • Lars and the real girl,
  • Hot Fuzz,
  • The King's Speech,
  • A beautiful Mind,
  • The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind,

  • The emperor's new groove,
  • Ad astra,
  • Walle,
  • Kontroll (2003, warning: the plot includes a mysterious murderous force that is killing people on the underground. However, the movie always makes me feel better and hopeful in the end)
Eternal sunshine is out of place on this list imho. Cool movie but it's not exactly tulips and roses tbh
You're right, I put it there because it leaves me in a positive mood, but there is more melancholy than fun in this one.
Stranger Than Fiction is my favorite movie. I'm so glad to see it on someone's list!
I rewatch it from time to time and recommend it to people all the time :)

These are more "leave you feeling good" than "funny" but

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Big Fish

Also Julia for a series. That show made me so happy when I watched it lol

And Rockos Modern Life is my all time favorite

I always feel Scrubs is worth rewatching.
Agreed, but be advised, it has some very hard episodes, too. Which I actually feel only serves to make it's positive moments that much more meaningful, but it can definitely pack a wallop.

Series:
It's always sunny in Philadelphia
Trailerpark boys
Arrested development
East bound and down

Anime:
Golden boy
Great teacher onizuka

Movies:
What we do in the shadows
Austin Powers trilogy
Superbad and other Seth Rogen movies of that era
Early Adam Sandler movies
Clerks and some other stuff from Kevin Smith
Who killed captain Alex is more of a non stop action packed movie but it's definitely hilarious
Kung pow

While IASiP and Arrested Development are definitely hilarious, I would hardly call them positive (for the most part). They create humor by satirizing very negative cliches and behaviors.
Yeah you're right. I didn't fully read the premise and then I was too lazy to edit. Actually all my series suggestions are awful in the feel good category. The animes can both be a little heavy handed and perverted but in the end they're with a positive outlook and ending. The movies are mostly Hollywood happy endings.

Two of my recent favorites have notably positive themes:

  • Joe Pera Talks With You

  • The Bear (Season 2, specifically)

I’m not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for but, little miss sunshine

Some random unusual but funny and feelgood-ish movies:

Crazy and Thief (2012) - IMDb

Crazy and Thief: Directed by Cory McAbee. With Willa Vy McAbee, John Huck McAbee, Gregory Russell Cook, Graham P. Stanford. A seven year old girl takes her two year old brother on a voyage through a world of homemade mythologies by using star graphics found on the streets as navigational tools.

IMDb
I can’t stop watching superstore. Every episode is hilarious.
The way of the house husband (anime)

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Probably the most wholesome and positive of all the Treks. There's a reason it's so loved

Little Miss Sunshine - Movie about loving yourself and people around you despite the sadness in life
Surprised nobody has mentioned Psych yet, definitely one of my go to comfort shows
I know this is a pretty popular one but I don’t think I’ve ever not felt better after an episode or two (or 6) of Futurama. As for movies, Hot Fuzz always has something new and funny you hadn’t noticed before on each watch.
I also think many of the studio Ghibli films give off some pretty good vibes (emphasis on the word ‘many’ though, there are some pretty gut-wrenching ones). Any of the Mr Bean movies or episodes also cheer me up pretty well
  • The Amazing World of Gumball
  • Oddballs
For me, Bob’s Burgers. Every episode is good natured and no matter the challenge, they are family and they band together. I love the shoe for that.

The recent series Jury Duty was hilarious and surprisingly wholesome and showed how there are actual good people in the world.

I know it’s kinda corny and basically a big ad for Google but I low key love The Internship. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are hilarious together and the movie is about how it’s never too late to change your life and it always just makes me feel good.
