#twitter #fellas #twitterdown Two days ago my account on Twitter was about to hit 1000 followers and I was locked out, tried for hours to get in, but was unsuccessful. I created a new Twitter account yesterday, when I view it on my iPhone 24 hours later I still cannot see anything, still getting rate limit exceeded. Does anyone have information on this? If I use Safari on iPhone to log into Twitter, I have more viewing capabilities. Please let me know your thoughts.

@phellanthropist Elon Musk has made the very intelligent, not-at-all miserable and utterly baffling and insane decision to rate limit viewing tweets. Not posting, viewing.

This means if you open twitter and scroll your own posts and comments for a few minutes, you're locked out for 24 hours unless you give him money. This is site-wide and has been happening since yesterday.

800-400 posts includes every single reply and even featured tweet that gets loaded, even if you don't see it.

@phellanthropist Basically, welcome to Mastodon full-time because one would have to be a crazy person to put up with that. Making new accounts doesn't help because the limit is so low, even if it was 1000 viewed posts; it would still not get through an even remotely active twitter thread before blocking you for a day.
