What’s your favorite Mastodon client on iOS? I tried all of these but all of them are bad in their own way. Best of all was Ivory but they don’t support pleroma servers like this one sadly.
@PeterUllrich i like Toot! I’ve been using it for a while. It has this Notify button that is really nice to get notification from certain people as soon as they post 👍🏼
@vitor I’m not 100% happy with any of them to be honest. Most of them have too much visual clutter and it makes it hard to scroll without loosing focus. So far, Metatext has the most Twitter-like UI, so I use that one. But only the official Mastodon app gives me push-notifications, so I gotta keep that one too.
@vitor another annoyance with the official app is the timeline. I see replies from people that I follow, but I get no context of what they’re replying to. This reply is the latest message in a thread and I’ve got no clue what it refers too. It’s just additional clutter sadly. Other clients, like Toot don’t show these.
@PeterUllrich @vitor In the web UI it is possible to filter these also.

On Firefox mobile you can "install" the mobile ui, but no push notifications there either.
@PeterUllrich on another Akkoma instance we installed Mangane, I really like the UI, even in the PWA :(
@AdrianPaulCarrieres @PeterUllrich another alternative frontend I've looked at is Elk, but last I checked it was still missing something / largely a work in progress. Akkoma has a frontend switcher now maybe it's time to try it out.
@paulyd @AdrianPaulCarrieres these are all web UIs, right? I’m looking for an iOS app since I access Twitter from ios 95% of the time
@PeterUllrich @AdrianPaulCarrieres yes that is correct. Unfortunately I am not an ios user so I'm not much help.
@PeterUllrich @paulyd yeah :/
You can only use them as PWA but if you wanted native stuff this won't work :(
