Well the whole “Copilot” thing coming to Windows 11 is definitely going to get me to go back to Windows 10.
@aurynn lmao I never left. I'm currently trying to get myself familiar enough with Linux that when support ends in 2025ish I can bail for good
@StargirlSagan unfortunately, videogames, and I really don't want to try to get WINE going
@aurynn yeah I just can't see what else to do, I hate the trajectory windows is on so
@aurynn I'm just waiting on the group policy to disable it.

@aurynn Thanks for the heads-up! That’s some serious motivation for me to look into Proton. I only use Windows for gaming.

Fortunately, I no longer need to test software on there because my official answer to “X doesn’t work on Windows” is now “Windows is supported through WSL”. 😊

@aurynn I just got railroaded into installing 11. I think I'll just replace it with something else that can run Steam

@aurynn
eeyup. I don't want it to train on my data.

The telemetry and gratuitous advertising everywhere incl in explorer.exe is rough enough.

If Microsoft was just a software company, I'd be less concerned, but it's also an advertising company and now big data training AIs... thus now a trust and safety concern.
