#Musk just introduced a "read-limit". #Verified accounts can read 6000 tweets a day, #Unverified can read 600 tweets a day.

Official reason: "measure against data scraping" (I‘ll explain why this is bs below)

Inofficial but actual reason: #Twitter is running out of money and Muk needs to take even more drastic measures to force people to buy #TwitterBlue

🧵Here is why Musks explanation is bs:

For at least 2 weeks now, the For-You Page has been literally flooded with strangely similar "Engaging Tier List" content in the form of #Twitter threads by bots accounts, which are most likely originating from Twitter itself - as a tool to get #unverified uses to hit the limit much faster than they would have. These threads have very little content per tweet, even though the recently extended character limit actually makes such threads unnecessary.

If you happen to still have a #Twitter account, just search for the following phrases and you‘ll find masses of these #generic twitter threads from equally generic accounts, allmost all of them are "verified":

"Here‘s how" - "Here are" - "Here‘s the"

@bensen I had some PAC link a state representative in PA to my birdsite account and a bunch of bots favorited it.

Nobody is even proofreading their stuff or even checking they are boosting the right accounts
