put your pronouns in your bio.
write an #indroduction #introductions and copy in those hashtags
hashtags are good for discovery but don't spam them
🚧content warnings on things that are distressing to people and they can't do anything about are always a good idea: eg, ukpol, uspol, war🚧
🚧use "lewd" not "NSFW" on your lewd toots🚧
my instance's admin prefers the content warning 🚧anti-trans hate🚧 to 🚧transphobia🚧 as that's a better description, I agree and think it's a good rule in general.
use image descriptions, any make them actually descriptive.
don't go by mastodon's advice on who to follow, you can find the dozen funniest people on the plant (for you) right now if you just look yourself.
