As someone who fully divested from twitter despite being reliant on it early in 2023 I'm here to tell you that you can, in fact, just not use twitter. You can go all in on mastodon. In fact, it'll probably make mastodon work better for you if you do
@eniko mmm like 99% of who I follow just aren’t here though :(
@gamingonlinux then they're not cool enough to worry about 🤷‍♀️
@eniko mmm life and business is just not so simple as that
@gamingonlinux @eniko However, Twitter itself coming up with yet another way to force the issue may make it simpler. Like… the website itself deciding to push people out of using it. So like… where are the people currently on twitter going to go? A lot of people want Bluesky but it’s still invite-only, and unclear if it has a web frontend. A fediverse instance is the next most common-sense option. Or they can just… stop posting. Which may be even better, depending on circumstances, lol.
@gamingonlinux @eniko follow new people then. theres hundreds of thousands of people on the fediverse who are posting.

@gamingonlinux try using a birdsitelive server to follow anyone you're interested in.

@eniko

@gamingonlinux @eniko I lucked out and was already entirely off twitter by the time they decided to flip the switch from blow (investor money) to suck (money in for investor.) It'd probably be best for each developer to just have their own bloody RSS feed for the news sites to follow for their press releases and information.
