@cjmuise my favourite is Paul Edwards’ “A Vast Machine”. It’s more about the data, while mine is more about the models. I think they should go well together. https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262518635/a-vast-machine/
If you want something that’s a little more like an introductory textbook, I think the most readable is Andy Dessler’s “An Introduction to Modern Climate Change”
