It took me awhile to pay off my student loans but that was a few decades ago. Kids today carry a much, much heavier debt load.

I’d like to state a key fact that gets lost in this- the loans that would have been forgiven are only federal loans and they are such a SMALL part of the overall debt that students- not born into a rich family- carry.

God forbid the U.S. would invest in our youth. Far better to free up more money for the tax averse R donors. /s

@TonyStark Exactly! I was arguing with the family boomers who were all “you put yourself through college and paid all your bills, why shouldn’t your kids?” And I said, because I went to a top tier state regulated university, where the tuition was $4.00 a credit hour. My semester bills were a grand or two, even in grad school. Your GOP deregulated that university system, and now that university costs $40k a year.
