It's an absolute indictment of journalism and lawyering that we are only finding out now that the wedding website case -- which the Supreme Court used to endorse discrimination against certain people -- was fraudulent in pretty much every way.

The Mysterious Case of the Fake Gay Marriage Website, the Real Straight Man, and the Supreme Court

In filings in the 303 Creative v. Elenis case is a supposed request for a gay wedding website—but the man named in the request says he never filed it.

@dangillmor Or not even finding that out. The news stories I've read from major news sites don't mention it.
@peltast @dangillmor This. MSM does no journalism these days.

@dangillmor Consider that such is a set of unverified reports.

I am incredulous that such fraud did not even get caught in the trial, the appeals by any attorney, or the media.

@staidwinnow @dangillmor

This is why Biden needs to take the greatest stand of his presidency and openly defy SCOTUS.

@lednabm @dangillmor He would be ineffective doing that when he does not have the House. The result would be chaos until November 2024

At this point he should do whatever he wants, but low-key. Defy them quietly through EOs.

After he wins in 2024, he should go full bore.

@staidwinnow @dangillmor

I vehemently disagree. Let the house reTHUGliCONs impeach him, and the senate dems can prevent conviction. A constitutional crisis? Absofinglutely. Biden seen fighting for people will get him reelected. Biden hiding in thd shadow of institutionalism is a loser.

@dangillmor Yes - and no.

The indictment - and I mean that in every sense of the word - should be of this criminally corrupt Court, and those on it who ignored settled laws and rules to ram through their bigoted bias over a fake case.

@dangillmor yeah I don’t think that “rule of law” thing is working out well for tens if not millions of us
@dangillmor that wasn’t widely known? One look at her work samples should have displaced any doubt
@dangillmor It is past time for Biden to directly criticise SCOTUS decisions. And follow Andrew Jackson's example and ignore them.
@dangillmor I agree with you, but it's a proud tradition going back nearly 100 years for phony "conservative" asshats to pull this kind of stunt. Buck v Bell (1922) comes to mind
@dangillmor Yes. The ruling is made on a flawed case. If the whole thing is made up then they never had standing. Not that anything will be done about it
@dangillmor in fairness to journalism, I read about the fraudulent aspect of the case several days before the ruling. It’s entirely possible it was written about that days or weeks before that, too— I don’t manage to read every article and essay, myself either.
@dangillmor Why isn't that perjury?
@dangillmor “Journalism, you’re doing great, Sweetie!” -@hegemommy
@dangillmor Sadly, I believe this only further lessens the integrity which is supposed to be inherent when considering what the "Supreme Court" represents...justice for all, and only predicates the very real need for many things such as term limits, oversight, and tighter restrictions of appointments.
@dangillmor “somebody’s using false information in a Supreme Court filing document” #humanrights #supremecourt
@dangillmor #ExpandTheCourt is the way to marginalize this corruption.
@dangillmor #ExpandTheCourt Users on reddit and elsewhere called that out before the ruling was even released, but the Corporate News Media prefers oligarchy, so they cannot offer a truly neutral stance on anything and always favor the right wing in some way. Usually that is through "centrism" and massaging the GOP's fascist image. It's not different than going with "heartbeat bill" logic even though there is nothing close to a heartbeat at 6 weeks. Or how they refuse to call the 6-3 SCOTUS a SUPERMAJORITY and still only call it a majority. Or how the only solutions to any problem they ever present always revolve around some privatized corporate solution and nothing ever truly done by the government (e.g. public option).The list never ends.
@dangillmor I assumed it was fake and just used by conservatives for their agenda when I learned the woman who ran it was upset by a hypothetical gay marriage request .
