@dpscifi Dems have the power to kill or change the rule, and do not need 60 votes to do it.
@BruceMirken Manchin and Sinema wouldn't go along, so Dems didn't have 51 votes to kill it.
@dpscifi This is exactly the sort of learned helplessness that will be the end of us. LBJ, for all his faults, would never have thrown up his hands and said, "We don't have the votes." He'd have cajoled and threatened till he had them. Biden and Schumer didn't even try.
@BruceMirken how do you know they didn't try?
@dpscifi Because they didn't even say anything in support of it. Biden continues to publicly expose expanding the court.
