What is everyone getting this Steam sale?

Skyrim (again, this time Anniversary Edition) and the Castlevania Advance Collection
I feel the Skyrim purchase. I have about 4 or 5 different versions - all the different platforms it’s been released on!
Thinking of picking up Stray. My GF loves cats and has been waiting for a sale.
I picked up Stray yesterday. Very good so far!
One of my favorite games of the last years, and also fun to watch someone else play.
I got Lake and The Long Dark, both of which had been on my wishlist.
Not sure if I’ll buy anything, my backlog is terrible already and I recently bought some games like Tales of Arise through Fanatical sales. Main game I was hoping would get a sale was Shadows of Doubt but it’s still full price.
Tales was on sale through fanatical? Damn, I missed it

Base game was $17, I think ultimate edition was $37 which seemed really high for costumes.

It was one of their star deals, limited time and limited stock.

I received BattleBit Remastered as a birthday gift, it's great. I hope they don't drop Linux support.

Other than that I might buy Bugsnax.

FF games are a solid choice. The Pixel Remasters have been very well received and anything that makes the early games more approachable is a solid win in my book. That said, I personally found the 3D version of FFIII (actual 3, not 6) to be phenomenal.
FF Pixel Remasters on SD are an absolute blast.
I was really hoping to pick up some of the Stellaris DLC's that I'm missing, but of the 5 I don't have, 4 aren't on sale at all, and the last 1 is only 20% off. Pretty bummed tbh.
How’s Stellaris like on the steam deck? I have the game, but haven’t tried it on the deck yet.

I only bought games I plan on playing on the Steam Deck. Those are:

  • Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition
  • Mark of the Ninja Remastered
  • RimWorld
  • Rune Factory 5
  • Clive 'n' Wrench

Never played any of them before.

  • Ori and the Blind Forest, after recently completing WotW.
  • GTA IV
  • Stanley Parable: ultra deluxe. Loved the first one.
  • The Beginner’s Guide

Some local multiplayer games to play with my partner on the dock:

  • It Takes Two
  • Unravel 1 & 2
  • ibb and obb
  • Pummel Party
  • Sonic All-Stars Racing

I also considered Hollow Knight and Dead Cells, but prefer to get games on GOG when available.

It takes two is a phenomenal co-op experience. We did a couple of runs and enjoy the whole thing each time.

The gameplay was good, the story is awful.

We quit after a certain scene. It made us feel sick and we had no desire to continue. I had just recommended a friend to play it with their kids the day before and immediately told them not to.

Just awful.

Now I’m curious which scene you’re talking about. The storyline in my opinion was a bit shallow and at times cringy, but not sickening.
It involves an elephant and I’m definitely not the only one who felt this way about that scene and it’s a very common thread for people to quit playing the game after this scene.
ibb & obb is a fantastic game
Does GTA IV run well on the deck?
I gave up after ~2 hours, since I didn’t enjoy driving around the world, but in that time it performed great on the Steam Deck.
Just picked up Hi Fi Rush and Dave the Diver. I’m going to Amsterdam for a conference in a few weeks and both will be nice on the long plane ride
Earth Defense Force 5 Grim Dawn Freedom Planet Cuphead Ziggurat 2 7 Days To Die
just bought American Truck Simulator and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA
ATS and ETS are such chill games. Nothing but endless roads and your foot on the pedal.
Definitely, when I opened ETS2 I would forget about time and play it for hours; ATS right now is 75% off so it's definitely a good time for me to try it

ATS and ETS are pretty much on sale for $5 during every sales event.

That's not meant to be dismissive though, they are great games, a few years old, and definitely a great value. DLC can be a bit more expensive, but the base games allow for plenty of fun on their own.

Damn it. Already spent a bunch of money this sale but I somehow didn't think to get the ATS DLC that I'm missing. Thanks (or damn you?) for reminding me (and making me spend more moves >.< )

Dark Souls 1-3

been waiting for these to go on sale for what feels like forever!

Got Blasphemous, Fury and Celeste, less than 20 euros and 3 solid indie games!
I got wrestling empire. In my first match I rode a skateboard and knocked ppl over. I found a gun. Goldust died I think, he just laid there for like 10 min. 10/10. Also ita fun to play, kinda like the old n64 wwf games.
I’ve reached a weird sort of critical mass where steam sales no longer provide me with dopamine
I don't understand. Have you tried spending more money?
Yes! It hasn’t increased my playtime at all!
Already bought Star Wars Squadron’s, Bionic Commando Rearmed and CRUMB.
The Sinking City, because I love Lovecraftian games and also I’m a masochist

Last night I picked up: Hollow Knight, Dues Ex Mankind Divided, Monster Sanctuary, Pillars of Eternity, Guardian’s of the Galaxy, Journey to the Savage Planet, and a Vampire Survivor DLC. Not bad for ~$60.

Probably gonna pick some more out for an even $100 lol Cult of Lamb is high on the list.

i’m debating finally trying la noire – would have been up my alley like 25 years ago, but never got around to it…

Just now I got three low-priced titles: Verlet Swing | Levelhead: Platformer Maker | Solo

I'm not looking to buy anything specifically. I'll probably check my Steam wishlist at some point with low price and high discount filters and decide if I want anything else.

I don't need anything new though. My library backlog with unplayed great games is big enough.

Verlet swing is pretty fun, definitely a unique game.
I got Hearts of Iron 4, Gotham Knights, Peglin, and Growing up. I'm very happy with it.
I’m picking up almost every FF game that’s on sale while I play through the series. Which the pixel remasters were on sale but it is what it is. About to start 4, very excited.
I’m forsure getting Trombone Champ and all of the DLC for Fire Pro Wrestling World. Who knows what else, but those are definitely happening.
Necesse. It’s like top-down Terraria with colonists that organize your chests for you. Great early game content, anyway.
How do you like the controller support? Well. If you’ve tried it.

Not the guy you responded to, but I have experience with the game and stream deck.

The controller works fine, although I can’t help but think some buttons for actions are incorrect. Like cancel on one menu is one button, but a different button elsewhere. I believe controller support was somewhat recently added though so maybe it’s just not fully baked.

I suppose I could contact the author and let them know my feedback.

My new Steam Deck.
An excellent choice. Which model did you opt for?
  • Had enough rewards points from work to combine with my existing steam wallet to cover all but 9 bucks of it. I’ll upgrade the drive later.
  • Just recently got a steam deck. But not bitter about missing that sale.

However, very happy with the 75% off Halo MCE, which other than some occasional stutter, is lots of fun on the SD handheld mode

I snagged Elden Ring and all the souls games

you may be able to find them for a few bucks cheaper on isthereanydeal.com

Finally decided to pick up Persona 5 Royal after having completed the original on PS4 when it first came out.
I’m honestly really happy with the performance of P5R at Medium settings on Deck.
    Finally got Stardew Valley
I had a lot of fun playing that one.

It is unlikely that Cataclysm ever goes on sale, because the steam release basically is just a donation. You can get the game for free on the official website: https://cataclysmdda.org

There you can also donate other amounts than the Steam price.

Whaaat. I didn't even know they had a steam version!
