So, if the United States is in a “post-racial society” that doesn’t need Affirmative Action, why was there an explosion of hate groups when a Black President was elected? And why is right-wing media bashing Critical Race Theory and warning people about Replacement Theory?

Almost seems like the most racist people are the ones who claim there’s no racism anymore.

My theory is the white establishment doesn't want diversity in Universities because diversity in Universities results in their children becoming aware of their own white privilege, causing some of them to "go woke".

Your theory makes sense to me. It's hard to "other" people you routinely interact with. If you know and like one person in the supposedly bad group, they're the exception. If you know and like lots of people in the supposedly bad group, maybe you're wrong about the group.

No. It was brought by an organization that has been trying to end affirmative action for decades that tried a different strategy, using Asian students to accomplish that strategy.

Justice Roberts' oft-quoted statement that the way to end racial discrimination is to stop racially discriminating (I paraphrase) is simple, easy and wrong.

It is akin to breaking someone's legs and then saying let's have a fair race.

Race is a social construct, but that doesn't make it any less powerful, destructive, or divisive. Today's ruling was a travesty -- not unexpected but certainly wrongly decided.

@AmishSuperModel Yes exactly! And if race can't be used in determining admissions, can we also get rid of things like .... legacies? Why does where your dad (or mom) went to college become a factor in admissions? That just reinforces existing class and racial bias.
