Had a fight with #ProBuilder today.. it ate my car mesh!! Luckily, have restored things from a backup.

I've learned my lesson: gotta learn #Blender 😬 not looking forward to it but it's about time..

#Unity #GameDev

Btw, getting quite sick of Unity, but I'm kinda stuck with it. I wish things weren't so bloated and the owners weren't so money addicted. Ugh!
@bazkie if you want off the mega-corp train, there's always Godot 😉

@GoblinCookies I'm looking into that! But I do notice it's also got C# support, which I'm afraid will bring the whole Microsoft shebang with it (which I also want to get rid off), and I'm not sure how good the Godot native language is. Do you happen to know something about that? :)

I've got a C++ background, so I'm also considering just going back to using no engine at all, and then making simply spritey games using the SDL library :)

@bazkie yeah if you're gonna try it, skip C#. It feels tacked on to help Unity users transition easier.
GD script is basically python. It'll take maybe a day or 2 to learn the unique syntax, but it's quick to learn.
And the engine is pretty decently organized. Settings are reliably hidden, instead of Unity's batshit & bloated Easter egg hunt.
No AAA GFX here, but anything art directed will look great.
Or scrap it for a custom c++ engine. I wish I were smart enough to do that 😅

@GoblinCookies Thanks for the insight :D

I don't really jell well with Python for some reason, so a likeness to that is a downside for me actually, lol. but I guess I should just try it out and see if maybe I can get into it :)

@bazkie totally get it. You do you 🤘
