#hamradio I wonder whether I'll ever manage to have a CW QSO where I don't start to sweat in fear of messing up and actually understand what the other side is trying to tell me rather than just sending random things and hoping it fits the conversation.... #cw #learningmorsecode

At this rate I only manage one QSO until I'm completely exhausted.... 🥴

@navigium QRS and "?" are your friends. Perfection isn't necessary - you'll understand more than you believe.

@k0in @navigium my go-to is "SRI QSB PSE AGN? BK".

In fact, I might just program it into one of the memory keyer slots

@k0in @navigium also...
Well done OM! Persevere and you'll be rattling it out in no time
@navigium You're not alone! I've wanted to start by using an iambic keyer but discovered a serious down-side: with a straight key, if you're a bit off on your timing, that's what it sounds like. With a keyer, if you're hold too long it sends conmpletely different characters but perfectly spaced. I'm guessing the result at the far end would be much more difficult to unscramble than straight key timing errors.
@navigium I agree with the others. Keep at it, and it will get easier. C U ON THE BANDS!
