Some photos of Laura Williams sharing her Aluna project at Lunar Imaginaries at the new Care + Climate space in Greenwich.

Aluna is a Moon and Tide Clock designed for the 0° longitude on the Greenwich Peninsula.

It's an incredible project. really hope the London community can support the realisation of this building - alunatime.org

The meeting was a gathering of moon-inspired folk. We spoke together about vital darkness, the value of shadows & direct relationship with the stars, and of animals that navigate using celestial bodies.

People shared memories of the first lunar landing, and the night skies of their childhood, & so many stories and understandings of the moon.

We celebrated the fighting spirit of #RightToRoam - a movement growing around Dartmoor, claiming the right to sleep out on the moor under the stars.

Emotions ran high at the prospect of a new wave of industrial exploitation & extraction causing irrevocable damage to the moon. The questions of how to tend right relationship with lunar ecologies are really alive.

I'll carry these questions and collective anger with me as I participate in NASA’s European Lunar Symposium -https://youtu.be/MH2iHHyQuoc

Interested to learn about how humans plan to return to the moon by 2030—and also acutely aware of humanity's track record in respecting environments.
