Dunno about you, but I take the train to the city, where I'm deposited smack dab in the middle of the shopping district.
Or office district.
Or at hospital.
Or the airport.
Cars get in my way much more often than they get me somewhere.
This is the polar opposite of when I lived in the USA, where I was almost forced to have a car, and drive everywhere.

amstanley@dmoser There is basically no street parking in Tokyo. Paris has a way to go yet, but the example is clear.
