You don't have to use Mastodon through an app!

Every server has its own website where you can log in and use all its features. The web interface is excellent, and it usually gets the latest features before the apps do.

Your server's website address will usually be the same as its name, for example the website for the server kind.social is at https://kind.social

The website works on both computers and phones. (If you're using the phone version, click # to see the search box.)

@feditips I can't use it because often it doesn't really remember my timeline position if I tap on a post to read other comments and then go back. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Odd. It works for me. Are you clicking on the right back button?
@SmartmanApps @feditips I'm talking about using it on my phone as a PWA, and using the back gesture on Android specifically.
@sklc @feditips
Ah ok. I thought you meant it wasn't working on the web version.
@SmartmanApps @feditips It also behaves very odd when you've scrolled down a lot and go back. The way it "reloads" and scrolls back to your position is very disorienting.
@sklc @feditips
I actually find it (Mastodon web) much more stable than same thing on Twitter. Over there if you don't scroll for a while you get "load more", sometimes multiple times, but here all the posts just load up, no dramas. πŸ™‚
