Saw someone driving with AirPods 🫤
@fasterthanlime I tried to imagine someone double tapping each airpod for the left and right turns. It made the visual more horrifying.
@fasterthanlime I frequently see cyclists charging around with earbuds or full-on over-ear headphones on. Utter luncacy.
@fasterthanlime I do that all the time. Transparency mode works great. When I hop out to shop or I’m going on a hike with the dogs, I put my music or podcast on with a click and bobs yer uncle.
Same with my bike.
@photex re bike I got bone conduction ones. In a car I.. don’t know. Even with transparency mode it doesn’t feel right to me
@fasterthanlime bone conduction? Sounds neat!

@fasterthanlime @photex can confirm it works really well, you can even go into accessibility settings to make it more sensitive and boost sounds.

imagine a world where you've got several small children screaming and you need to turn the volume down in your brain to focus on the road.

@fasterthanlime i don’t get why people see a difference between people wearing headphones or blasting the car radio.
@fasterthanlime I do it all the time. See no difference between this and listening to car stereo
@krystman @fasterthanlime You cannot hear any emergency vehicles or other ambient noises
@sigaloid @fasterthanlime Yeah I do. They aren‘t noise cancelling
@krystman Ah yeah, the ambient mode! Those are pretty helpful. Many countries it is still illegal though.
@sigaloid The regular Airpods just don‘t have noise cancellation at all. Only the Airpods Pro do and yeah I agree that for those the Ambient Mode is probably a wise choice
@fasterthanlime wait until you’ll see people driving with Apple Vision Pro goggles
@fasterthanlime That’s me in my old car when I didn't have an easy way to connect my phone. Or in my new car while the kids listen to fairytales
