I made a quick summary of how https://ublue.it handled the #flatpak regression that landed in #fedora and other distros a few days ago:

@jorge `rpm-ostree` is really the jam <3
@jorge could you write it down in words for those of us who still live in the 1990s? :D

@adamw We can ship "here's a workaround" and get it out the door in minutes.

And then when it's fixed we can remove the workaround and it's all transparent to the end user. Ideally without them even knowing. 😀

@adamw We used rpm-ostree and a Containerfile to do what @garrett told people to do:

@jorge thanks!

so, what I'm getting from this is, we need an openQA test for flatpak installs...

@adamw Yea, no apps can be installed or updated which is inconvenient on Workstation but crippling on the ostree ones.
@adamw Oh, also bad timing with Nvidia 535 in RPMFusion, which means the user needs the updated nvidia runtime from flatpak or their games won't work.
@jorge in Silverblue I keep an older working configuration pinned. In this case I just boot into the old configuration, update the flatpaks, and boot back into the current configuration. No worries.
