@theloveofwords 'un-tweaked' version - but i had that 'vintage' filter very much in mind when i stopped for the shot
@cloudhopper Lovely.
@theloveofwords ta. to be fair, the sky did all the heavy lifting. i just did the clickity.
@cloudhopper Pretty superb eye behind that clickity though.
@theloveofwords too kind, too kind. couldn’t resist that magnificent skyline, the blue and all the fluffy clouds. bumped to an inelegant halt in a farmer’s field gateway, and just soaked it all up. Took a film clickity, too. Hope that works. [why is the sky blue? to show off the fluffy white clouds.] Near Islip, Oxfordshire - birth-place of one of our Saxon Kings, apparently. Edward the Confessor, I think? Son of Æthelred the Unready, who was clearly ready for something. 1/2
@theloveofwords 2/2 Back in the car and off to take pictures of the Churches in Merton, Ambrosden and Launton on the way back home. Nearly made it, but turned right instead of left (at the airfield) and went for a beer at The Wriggly Monkey. Rude not to.
@cloudhopper Oh, wonderful. Really can't wait to see how the film shots turn out too.
@theloveofwords we’ll see. I had a day on the river yesterday (well, a few hours): loaded a fresh roll (of Portra ) fully intending to document the boating (punting, actually) and to polish off a roll in one hit. As soon as I was on the water, the brain switched off and the camera just sat, forgotten about in favour of idly watching dragons and demoiselles, water-birds, and hilariously inept boaters. Our own chauffeur de l’eau, my son, is effortlessly expert.
@cloudhopper You made all the right choices, I’d say

@cloudhopper Love this
@theloveofwords I took all the technical gubbins needed to; film, photograph, record A Trip on the River… and it all stayed in the bag. Another time, maybe. Recorded in my head.
@cloudhopper if you never take it with you, there’s not even a chance you’ll chose to do it. Good work you
